PA and School Secretary

At an exciting time in this independent school's development, they are seeking an experienced PA/ secretary to join the team and provide high quality executive assistance, secretarial and service support to the Head to ensure efficient day to day operations of the school. 

PA and School Secretary Responsibilities

As the PA and School Secretary some of your duties will include but not be limited to:

Providing full administrative and PA support to the Head Teacher
Being the first point of contact (in person and via calls and emails) for all enquiries from students, parents, staff, governors and other internal stakeholders and external organisations
Liaising with other Heads of Departments to ensure all required administration, systems and data are available, accurate, and up to date
Taking minutes/ notes in staff meetings and circulating necessary information
Assisting with organisation of school events and parents evenings and associated administrative support
Assisting with marketing including proofreading and contributing to the newsletter and managing the school's website
Administering 1st Aid to the pupils as required

PA and School Secretary Experience

To be successful in this full-time during term-time role you will be an experienced PA or Secretary and have a high proficiency in English both spoken and written and possess excellent communication and people skills. As a warm and caring person, you will have good personal presentation and organisation skills and be self-motivated with initiative and a willingness to learn. You must be reliable, honest, flexible, and trustworthy and able to work in a busy environment with adults and children alike. You must be friendly, enthusiastic, and approachable with a professional attitude and ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality. You will be responsible and able to prioritise your own workload with a willingness to be flexible and manage change as required. You must have experience of working as part of a team and be able to manage your workload independently with a ‘Can-do’ attitude and a willingness to help others. Previous administration experience within the education setting would be beneficial but not essential and a good knowledge and understanding of iSAMS would be an advantage although training will be provided. You must, however, have good Microsoft office software packages skills. As a professional and polite individual, you will have good conduct with clients, parents and staff and a polite telephone manner. You must be willing to participate in school events as required. Experience of school-based systems would be advantageous but not a requirement. You must be flexible and adaptable to the needs and demands of a school. 

Location

This role is located near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. It is close to train station links but if you drive it would be the easiest method to get there. Free car parking is available.

Working Hours are 8am – 5pm Monday – Friday. (There may be occasional evening or Saturdays where events take place where attendance will be required)

Please note that this role is fully office-based during term time and home working is available for the additional 15-20 days that you are required to be worked during non-term time. The salary advertised salary will be pro-rata for hours worked equating to approx. £16,000.
