Quantity Surveyor – LOFTUS ENGINEERING SERVICES LTD
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with project managers and engineers to evaluate M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) requirements for nuclear site projects.
* Prepare and manage budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts for M&E elements of nuclear projects.
* Conduct cost analysis, risk assessment, and value engineering to optimize the project.
* Track project expenses, variations, and change orders, ensuring cost control throughout the project
* Review and validate subcontractor payments, invoices, and claims.
* Support procurement activities by preparing tender documents, conducting bid evaluations, and negotiating contracts.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on Mechanical and Electrical systems.
* MRICS or MCIOB qualification is preferred.
* Proficiency in cost management software and tools.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Conduct cost control activities for construction projects
* Prepare and analyze cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections
* Monitor project costs and identify potential cost overruns or savings
* Review and evaluate contractor bids and proposals
* Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost-effective solutions
* Provide recommendations on cost-saving measures and value engineering options
* Prepare progress reports and cost forecasts for management
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role
* Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes
* Proficiency in cost-estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
* Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
* Attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations
* Effective communication and negotiation skills
Location:
The main office is based in Aylesbury, with sites across London.
