Are you well organised, confident with computers and great with people? Fairhive Homes Ltd  are looking for an Welfare Adviser to join our busy and friendly team!

Fairhive is a non-profit affordable housing provider with ambition. We already provide affordable housing to more than 20,000 people in our community but we want to do more. That’s why we are striving to provide 1,000 additional homes by 2025.

As a Welfare Adviser at Fairhive you can expect a varied workload and to be a valued member of our team, providing advice and assistance, essential to the smooth running of the business. 

About the Role

We are looking for an organised and experienced Welfare adviser with good attention to detail and the ability to multi-task to join the Welfare team.

On the Job you will:·

Assist residents to sustain their tenancies. 

Assist residents with welfare benefits applications, provide advice and apply for funding. 

Attend community events to assist residents with opportunities for employment and strategies to help residents improve their well being. 

Manage cases and provide regular updates, statistics and complete customer service surveys.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of a variety of administration tasks and who enjoys working with a diverse range of people. You will understand the importance of delivering an efficient and effective service to colleagues and customers.

For this role you will need:

Proven experience of a similar Welfare role. 

You must have GSCE English and Mathematics.

Preferably knowledge of housing law and a certificate in debt advice. 

You will ideally have skills and attributes that include:

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written·

Attention to detail·

Strong planning and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise·

The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team or on your own. 

Practical problem solving skills·

Computer skills (MS Office)

Knowledge of Universal Credit and the welfare benefits systems.
