Fairhive is a non-profit affordable housing provider with ambition. We already provide affordable housing to more than 20,000 people in our community but we want to do more. That’s why we are striving to provide 1,000 additional homes by 2025.
As a Mechanical & Electrical Surveyor at Fairhive you can expect a varied workload and to be a valued member of our team, providing great technical support, essential to the smooth running & compliance of the business.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced surveyor who has great knowledge within the mechanical & electrical fields, is well organised, has great attention to detail to ensure compliance across the sector is maintained and the ability to multi-task to provide essential administrative support to the Property Stat services teams.
On the Job you will:·
Ensure Mechanical & Electrical works are completed to a satisfactory standard
Arrange & attend monthly contractual meetings for projects / works taking place
Take ownership of any electrical / mechanical projects
Provide monthly reports on progress to senior management as required
Ensure all works comply with current Building Regulations, Codes of Practice, H&S legislation, CDM Regulations.
Ensure all invoices received relevant to any project worked on are processed for payment
Be responsible to obtain all completion certificates and save / store within the appropriate locations and update the database.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership on a variety of projects within the Mechanical & Electrical sectors and who enjoys working with a diverse range of people. You will understand the importance of delivering an efficient and effective service to colleagues and customers.
For this role you will need:
City & Guilds Part III/NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installation or other equivalent qualification and qualified to 18th (or latest) edition
City & Guilds 2391 level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing & Certification or equivalent
ACS gas qualifications / Gas safe registered (Desirable)
Strong verbal & written communication skills
Strong organisational, time management, administrative & prioritisation skills.
Ability to take ownership & decision making to ensure projects are completed to a satisfactory conclusion
A good level of H&S awareness & able to produce risk assessments as required
To be a strong team player and can adapt to multiple tasks & situations the role brings.
