Overview
Buckinghamshire Council are looking for a Commissioning Manager to support monitoring and oversight of their commissioned Integrated Community Equipment Service. The post holder will sit within the Council's Integrated Commissioning Team and report directly to the Specialist Commissioning Manager for Housing, Equipment and Technology

About the role
As a Commissioning Manager, you will lead on the following:
 Contract and relationship management with the external provider
 Regular performance reporting to internal and other stakeholders, including service performance, performance against budget and risk
Implementing agreed improvement plans – both with the provider and in relation to internal Council processes and approaches linked to this contract
 Identifying and implementing areas for innovation and improvement to support efficiency and effectiveness in this contract
This is a temporary position for six months, though there is potential for this to be extended further. The pay rate is £500 per day, and you will be working full time, 37 hours per week (a 4 day working week will be considered). Buckinghamshire Council are working on a hybrid basis where you will work remotely for 3-4 days per week and in the office 1-2 days per week.

The Aylesbury office is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP20 area) with great transport links including a local train station and excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40.

About you
We need someone who can hit the ground running. The post holder must:
Have a strong track record in contract management within the health and social care sector and / or experience of working in a community equipment or similar service
Have a strong background of service or performance improvement
Be self-motivated and able to work independently but also able to work collaboratively across health and social care stakeholders
Be able to present information clearly – both verbally and in writing, and be confident presenting to senior colleagues
Show professional curiosity, ask questions and appropriately challenge rather than accepting the status quo
Be able to think creatively about new solutions and approaches but also be able to make clear and SMART plans to implement these solutions
Be able to demonstrate they are confident working with large volumes of complex data. This will include interpreting data and using appropriate headlines for performance reporting, using data to support the development and implementation new ideas and approaches, and reviewing data with the provider as part of contract monitoring activity.
