Associate Director – Fire Engineering Job in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire / Hybrid Working

Associate Director job in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire for an international fire consultancy. You will be leading a team across Fire Safety and Fire Engineering, reporting to the Director of Fire Engineering. The role offers a competitive basic of up to £100k + Extensive benefits including Medical, 25 Days Holiday and Hybrid Working.

Made up of 10,000 employees, across 40 countries, their fire safety engineering services include strategic advice using detailed bespoke engineering analysis, computer modelling and negotiating positive outcomes for their clients with regulatory bodies.

They are experts in fire regulations, fire growth, fire dynamics, means of escape, smoke control, structural fire resistance, as well as the detailed design and evaluation of fire safety products and systems. You will be responsible for technical leadership with the fire teams whilst ensuring the timely delivery of projects and exceptional consultancy service to clients.

Role & Responsibilities

– Assist in the development of operational procedures to ensure quality and consistency

– Identify skill and knowledge gaps within the team and arrange appropriate training

– Provide support to engineers on the successful delivery of projects and services

– Support in reviewing of reports

– Work alongside the Director to develop solid technical company standards

– Keep up to date with regulations and legislation and ensure all work is compliant

– Represent the company at events, forums, conferences and technical committees

– Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

– Provide support to the sales / estimating teams in creating fee proposals

– Manage the workload and resource in the team

– Encourage and develop a positive culture in the team.

Required Skills & Experience

– Ideally a Chartered Fire Engineer (CEng) or close to achieving Chartership with IFE or equivalent

– Excellent knowledge of UK Fire Regulations and Codes

– Excellent experience in leading projects and teams

– Ability to manage the needs of clients, shareholders and employees.
