EVONA Space are sourcing an AIT Engineer Contractor for an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension – Space Sector

Job Purpose and Primary Objectives:

The client is looking for an Assembly, Integration and Test Technician or Engineer to work in its Westcott manufacturing facility. In this role, you will lead the Spacecraft propulsion assembly, integration, and test phases as the responsible Technician/Engineer.

We are focused on providing the most cost-effective propulsion solution for our clients/partner’s Small Satellite mission needs, from simple orbit adjustments to high-agility manoeuvres. Our patented and proprietary innovations have been specifically designed to improve safety and capability for spacecraft ranging from 3U through ESPA class. Specifically, our mission is to improve our client’s/partner’s missions through collaborative partnership and creative in-space mobility product solutions that are responsive to the safety, reliability, and cost-of-performance requirements of fundamental or advanced SmallSat and Rideshare missions.

You will be expected to prepare and participate in the environmental test campaigns including but not limited to:

• Propulsion Hot fire testing

• Thermal profiling and Vacuum testing

• Product and component qualification and acceptance testing

• Pressure vessel testing

• EMC testing where applicable.

Build and test the associated Ground Support Equipment (GSE) as needed to support Chemical propellant loading.

BEng, BSc or higher degree in engineering, science, or maths or equivalent experience.

Education and/or Experience:

• BEng, BSc or higher degree in engineering, science, or math or equivalent or a combination of education and related working experience form which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

What you bring to the position, or can swiftly learn and be successful in:

• Experience with the build and test of spacecraft components or experience in Aerospace manufacturing or test roles.

• It is highly desirable to have `hands-on’ experience in the build of complex pressurized products or gas systems that relate to spacecraft propulsion systems.

• You should have knowledge or awareness of ESA ECSS standards (or equivalent international standards NASA or others)

• Ability, agility, and can-do attitude to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and matrixed cross-functional environment.

• Able to collaborate in a multi-team environment to plan and accomplish tasks and meet objectives.

• Communication Skills—Ability to understand, analyse and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, or government policy.

• Uses effective written, visual presentation, and oral strategies to communicate technical problems and concepts to a range of technical and non-technical audiences
