Our client is a very successful and established logistics business and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Transport Planner. The successful applicant will work at our client's distribution centre near Aylesbury.
The Role:
Reporting to the Transport Manager you will be responsible for assisting with the “day to day” transport planning routine.
Your duties will include but is not limited to the following;
Assist with effective daily / weekly route planning for vehicles and drivers
Process incoming calls and enquiries from customers and amend transport plan & routes as appropriate
Brief drivers and liaise with them to ensure effective delivery / collections and route changes
Effective communication (written & verbal) of operational performance, needs, complaints etc etc and escalate issues where necessary
Monitor legal compliance including EU drivers hours, digital tachographs and WTD
Produce weekly / monthly KPI reports.Candidate:
Ideally you will have at least 2 year's experience in a similar transport operations or transport planning role. You will have excellent geographical knowledge and preferably have a good understanding of EU drivers hours legislation and WTD requirements.
You will excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be competent with various Microsoft software including Excel and applicants with route planning software experience would have advantage however full training will be given.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 10am – 7pm
