A Tool Design Engineer is required to join a business with an enviable reputation, who provide comprehensive design services and production capabilities in relation to plastic moulded products.
Joining the design team of components, devices, tooling, jigs and fixtures, the Tool Design Engineer will work closely with customers and prospects to optimise their product designs, through DFM and mould tooling design.
As a Tool Design Engineer, your duties will include –
Supporting project planning and management.
Reviewing and assessing client product requirements.
Recommending amendments to product design.
Designing moulded components and engineer for manufacture.
Design and detail injection and blow mould tooling.
Creating 2D drawings as required.
Dimensionally and visually inspect components.
Being enabled to move quickly from design idea to quality product through;
Access to a high degree of expertise and experience to help independently validate design ideas.
Ability to prove out design with prototype before production.
Ability to iterate design through multiple prototypes.
“Value for Money” low volume production.
Ownership of Tooling allowing flexibility and control over production.
We are keen to hear from any applicants with –
Design qualifications HNC or equivalent.
Competence in 3D modelling in one or more of the following; Solidworks, Visi, Catia, Delcam.
An in depth understanding of plastic moulding processes.
Experience in mould design.
Competence use of Excel and Power Point .
Inspection, CMM experience.
Strong communication, capable of building new relationships with customers.
Reliability and a strong commitment to customer care and service.
On offer for the successful Tool Design Engineer –
A salary £40 – 55K depending on experience.**Less experienced candidates can be considered at a lower salary level*
07:30-17:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30-14:00 Fridays.
22 days + bank holidays – to increase to 26 days after 2 years.
