SENDhelp is working alongside a special primary school based in Aylesbury, to recruit a Support Assistant to start immediately.
As our new Learning Support Assistant, you will be joining a fantastic school in the hearts of its community that caters to children with a broad diversity of complex needs including Profound and Multiple (PMLD), Severe (SLD), and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). Almost half of its pupils also have an additional diagnosis of an autistic spectrum condition (ASD).
The new Learning Support Assistant will be working in a school with wonderful facilities, something you as their new Learning Support Assistant will be able to take full advantage of. These include a hydrotherapy pool, a multi-sensory, a soft play, a library, an observational mirror room, 2 therapy swing rooms, a theatre, and even a training suite.
Our school and its new Learning Support Assistant will have a strong belief in the benefits of multi-professional working, with the school boasting on-site speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and a school nurse. The school is also proud to have multiple outdoor play areas featuring numerous pieces of activity equipment, along with a dedicated Muga.
Requirements:
Friendly and good team player.
Able to manage groups of pupils and deal with challenging behaviour effectively.
Enjoy working with SEND children and will ideally have experience in PMLD, SLD, MLD, and ASD.
An ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults.
Either live in Aylesbury, or surrounding areas or within a commutable distance.
