Teaching Assistant

Location: Aylesbury

Our client School, based in Aylesbury, is seeking a highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school provides education and care for up to 42 young people and has on-site facilities including a sports hall, multi-use games area, climbing frame, climbing wall and therapeutic sensory room. You will assist in teaching a curriculum that is designed to prepare students for the next step in their educational journey towards becoming independent and employable young adults. The school has a focus on emotional regulation, literacy, numeracy, life and independent living skills, adaptability, physical and emotional wellbeing and, where appropriate, academic excellence.

As a key member of the team, the Teaching Assistant will be responsible for providing support to students, facilitating learning and contributing to the smooth running of the school based in Aylesbury. The role requires someone who is resilient, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities:

Supporting the learning and development of students with SEND
Facilitating group and one-on-one activities
Assisting in the development of resources and materials
Monitoring student progress and recording achievements
Contributing to the planning and delivery of the curriculum
Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting emotional regulation
Providing pastoral care and support to students as requiredIdeal Candidate Attributes:
