The Company

Aylesbury based Engineering company who are specialists within the design and manufacture of industrial equipment to various sectors such as, Renewables, Oil & Gas, Pharma and many more. They have an exciting opportunity for 2x Production Engineers to join the business on a permanent basis, to help aid the improvement and upgrade of the production facility.

The Role

As Production Engineer you will provide production engineering support to deliver finished products to the required Quality, Cost & Delivery. Oversee the installation, commissioning and production development of new capital equipment within a fabrication environment. The role will also focus on the assembly process and exploiting the opportunity for process improvements and efficiency gains.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Support the Production Engineering Manager in delivering smooth & effective support to the manufacturing business.
Support Production on their daily targets and advise Production Team Leaders to ensure smooth machining processes.
Organise and plan the installation, commission, and maintenance of new production equipment.
Give support for identifying long-term manufacturing strategies.
Analyse and provide solutions to problems relating to the assembly process
Promote a high-level of housekeeping throughout a manufacturing environment to 5S standard.
Identify ways to reduce costs.
Train and coordinate production staff during process handover to production
Ensures Environmental Health & Safety policy is followed at all times.

Working Hours:

37½ per week

Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5pm

Friday 8.30am – 4pm

Person Requirements (Essential)

5 years' experience in a similar Production/Manufacturing Engineering role ideally in a fabrication environment
Experience in low volumes/ batch industrial manufacturing in a fabrication
Able to work with IT systems and possess a good level of PC literacy.
An awareness of health and safety issues within a manufacturing environment
A good 'hands on' approach
A strong work ethic, positive attitude with good attention to detail.
Effective communication and presentation skills to all levels of the business
A practical and logical approach to problem solving
The ability to work well under pressure and to work to tight deadlines

(Preferred experience but not essential)

Background in tube manipulation and forming, and experience of equipment utilised in these processes.
Background in overseeing the installation and commissioning of high-value production equipment.
Background in press operations, tube manipulation and tube forming processes and equipment used in these processes.
Ability to conceptualise and specify assembly tooling and equipment.
Knowledge of CNC machining
