OEM Account Manager – Automotive

An experienced Automotive OEM Account Manager is required to join the UK team of a Global OEM and aftermarket automotive components manufacturer. This role will form part of the OEM team in the UK and provide effective engineering and commercial support to Ford.

The Role

Provide effective commercial and engineering support to Ford.
Maintain engineering and commercial contacts through regular customer visits.
Work closely with the Project and Applications Engineer.
Work closely with design and development engineers, purchasing and Ford themselves to identify new business opportunities and implement successfully pre-agreed projects.
Establish pricing and strategy through solid customer relationships and competitor analysis.
Introduce and demonstrate new products & process change approvals.
Keep abreast of the latest engineering developments in the automotive field.
Identify future vehicle programmes and volume requirements through discussions with customers.The Candidate

A recognised Engineering qualification, preferably a degree, or a proven, successful background in an Automotive OEM environment.
A commercial focus with the ability to manage, develop and nurture customer accounts.
Previous experience of working with Ford or an equivalent volume vehicle manufacturer.
The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Experience of automotive new product introduction (PPAP).
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Advantageous, is a knowledge of internal combustion engines, ignition components, vehicle electronics and exhaust after treatment.
An analytical mindset with experience of using Microsoft Excel to prepare detailed reports and analysis for senior managers and customers.This role will involve travel to customer sites and occasional overseas trips.
