Are you well organised, confident with computers and great with people? Fairhive are looking for a Gas Technical Manager to join our busy and friendly team!
Fairhive is a non-profit affordable housing provider with ambition. We already provide affordable housing to more than 20,000 people in our community but we want to do more. That’s why we are striving to provide 1,000 additional homes by 2025.
As a Gas Technical Manager at Fairhive you can expect to be in a dynamic role and to be an integral member of our team, providing support to the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the business.
About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious individual with strong interpersonal skills who is able to multi-task to provide direction and support to the Property team.
On the Job you will:·
Deliver the installation and servicing programmes for gas heating and legionella ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained
Effectively manage and monitor the performance of the DLO and external contractors, taking corrective action as necessary.
Work in partnership with other departments and/or external bodies where possible to co-ordinate, develop and improve the delivery of services to residents and leaseholders.
Ensure full compliance with on-site Health & Safety Regulations and Construction Design and Management Regulations.
Provide line management to colleagues and provide coaching to develop team members.
Deliver programmes and repairs inline with Fairhive policies, procedures, budgets and timescales ensuring value for money and compliance with financial regulations.
Maintain accurate documentation and records required for the effective and efficient running of the service.
Participate in the management of out of hours service delivery on a rota basis ensuring out of hours calls are responded to quickly and an approved level of service is delivered to residents.
Operate in both the office and in the field with occasional exposure to unpleasant working conditions and PVPs.
Undertake other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required from time to time, including the delivery or projects that support our continuous improvement agenda
About You
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of a variety of projects and who enjoys working with a diverse range of people. You will understand the importance of delivering an efficient and effective service to colleagues and customers.
For this role you will need:
Current Gas Safe Registered
City and Guilds Part III/NVQ level 3 in Mechanical / plumbing installation or other equivalent qualification
Membership of the Guild of professional Gas Engineer or equivalent
Domestic – ACS CCN1, ACS CCN1, ACS CEN1. ACS HTR1, ACS WAT1, ACS CKR1, ACS CPA1
Commercial – CCCN1, COMCAT (phone number removed), CODW &01, CDGAI, CIGAI, ICPN1, TPCP1, TACPIAI
Experience managing legionnaire testing programmes and any remedial works arising.
Highly advanced technical knowledge AND / OR significant management experience
You will ideally have skills and attributes that include:
Strong knowledge of the commercial, operational and financial context and the skills to apply this to both service delivery and development of my team
Strong verbal and written communication skills and build collaborative partnerships
Excellent organisational, time management, administrative and prioritisation skills
Good intermediate IT skills
