Construction Support Engineer (Utilities)

Location: Aylesbury & Brackley
Position: Permanent, full time
Salary: TBD

Job Description

* Assisting in establishing a team to deliver the services which will consist of site-based designer’s representatives as well as office based support

* Construction support consists of:
– Responding to SNC’s / RFI’s / EWN’s for utilities and associated assets
– Reviewing and acceptance of permanent works materials for utilities
– Producing as-built records of utilities assets
– Contributing to Quarterly Reports
– Liaising with head office designers for answering major technical queries

* Ensuing Health & Safety within the ASC organisation

* Monitoring and supporting the Site Support Team to ensure that they are receiving the contracted for services

* Maintaining consistency coordinating for other sections’ support engineers4liaising with the CSS Manager to resource requirements to align with construction activities

* Meeting time frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations

Key Accountabilities

* Responding to inquiries of the contractor for utilities issues

* Reviewing construction Products and Materials Approvals Form for utilities (PMAFs)

* Reviewing of fabrication details, shop drawing for utilities

* Liaising with detailed design teams and construction delivery teams to resolve design issues

* Reporting of monitoring, testing, results and preparing reports

* Producing as-built drawings for utilities assets

* Contributing to the quarterly reports as required by the contract scope

Knowledge & Experience

* Degree with an emphasis in electrical engineering or equivalent

* Minimum of 5 years relevant experience on design and build projects dealing with utilities (including experience with single line diagrams, overhead pole design, HV cable calculations, specifications and assurance documents) issues and resolving them, preferably on rail projects or other linear projects of similar nature

* Application of British and European Standards and codes of practise

* Demonstrated proficiency in the English language, both speaking and writing

* Chartered status preferred

* Working knowledge of BIMXtra, ProjectWise, Cemar would be an advantage
