This specialist manufacturing business for domestic and commercial sectors are continuing to expand their supply chain operations.
At their site in Aylesbury, the Procurement Manager is looking to attract into the team a Buyer who will focus on supplier development and cost management initiatives.
Within the role of Buyer, typical responsibilities will be to: –
Develop and manage suppliers, improving controls and processes as well as leading and supporting cost down initiatives across the business unit.
Liaise closely with internal departments and other sites on projects key to the Business.
Actively be involved in supplier negotiations.
Ensure that supplier orders are actioned and progressed to meet tight deadlines.
Source products for New Product Introduction projects.
Communicate risks to supply chain that may affect production plans.
Work with operations to ensure optimum quality, prices and delivery for defined parts to support minimising inventory.The successful candidate will: –
Have gained their purchasing experience in a manufacturing/engineering/electronics environment.
Ideally be degree qualified.
Will be looking for a development opportunity.
Be able to build and maintain strong supplier relationships with a global supply base.
Ideally have a knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
