Based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire our client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team on an initial 6-month temporary basis working hybrid, with the potential to go permanent.

This job would suit someone with previous accounts payable experience, to contribute to the attainment of the company's business objectives by ensuring the integrity of the General Ledger, through accurate and timely processing of transactions via the sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring month end close and maintenance of control accounts ensuring compliance with key company processes and policies.

The successful individual will have extensive accounting experience including account analysis and reconciliation. Good organisational skills and attention to detail is key for this role. They must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. High standard of Excel skills and good system literacy is also an essential competency.

Job responsibilities:

Processing of purchase order requests and supplier invoices, in accordance with company controls.
Generation of weekly batch invoice payments to suppliers.
Reviewing supplier statements and timely query resolution.
Run daily interfaces into the finance system.
Investigate and resolve any errors, in a timely manner.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of debtor and creditor accounts, in accordance with company policies.
Batch Payment & Collection Run Processing, this is a shared responsibility with other account assistants.
Write up of relevant cash entries, shared with other account assistants and credit control.
Complete assigned balance sheet account reconciliations in line companies polices. Ensure identified items are understood and action plans agreed to resolve.
Conduct reviews of processes tasks for compliance with company control policies.
Assist the Finance Manager by performing assigned tasks in the month end close process.
