As a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operations for the PM shift, you will manage Staff resourcing to drive productivity and shift performance, provide training & coaching to ensure service level targets are achieved and motivate your team to achieve distribution greatness
You will need to come from a warehouse/distribution background, with proven experience of managing complex operations and delivering to strict customer time lines.
Experience and understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and how they can be used to effectively manage the operation, would be a definite advantage, along with a drive & passion to be part of a business transformation.
14:00 – 22:30 Warehouse Shift Manager – Responsibilities:
Plan and execute operational activities ensuring despatches for customer & branches are managed to deliver orders On Time In Full (OTIF).
Develop & manage relationships with internal customers and 3rd parties to ensure high levels of service.
Engage, challenge & develop staff to deliver performance levels required to achieve objectives.
Control and monitor costs within area of responsibility
Utilise WMS capabilities to drive efficiency, timeliness and quality.
Ensure shift KPIs are met and provide daily/weekly/monthly reports.
Apply Continuous Improvement principles to improve processes and remove non value-added activities.
Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety are applied at all times, setting a personal example and actively monitoring adherence to processes, housekeeping and reporting standards.
Experience & Key Skills:
Demonstrable experience of running warehouse operations, and managing staff with ability to engage, motivate and develop.
Strong knowledge and experience of Health & Safety and environmental standards within a warehouse environment.
Proven people management experience including the knowledge and application of HR policies and processes
Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Knowledge of warehouse automation systems advantageous but not essential
Awareness and/or skills in Continuous Improvement techniques; practicable improvements to work flow, work processes and efficiencies
Effective communicator with a good standard of English (spoken + written) and numeracy.
Ability to successfully operate and thrive in a change environment
