Operator – Energy from Waste

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Day Operator to join an energy from waste power station near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.
The Day Operator will be responsible for carrying out day to day operational tasks including safe and efficient operation of the weighbridge, cranes, ash handling plant and in the main tipping hall ensuring a smooth delivery of waste to the bunkers. Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Day Operations Supervisor you will be responsible for:
Operation of overhead cranes, front loader machinery, forklift trucks to ensure efficient delivery of waste to the bunkers. All training will be provided
Assisting with basic maintenance and plant cleaning activities on site especially within the tipping hall, ash handling plant and ash storage area
Ensuring all waste loads are recorded, weighed and dispatched effectively as per contracted turnaround time
Carrying out random inspections of waste delivered to site to ensure compliance within the environmental permit and report any non-conformances
Assist with the completion of relevant reports with relation to weighbridge activities
Provide cover when needed in the absence of other team members
Complete any training that is required.
This role involves working 6.30am to 3pm one week, and 10am to 6.30pm the following week with 1 Saturday covered in 4
To be considered for this role you should have:
Operations or production experience in a industrial environment. This could be waste management, manufacturing, quarry, FMCG or warehousing
Ability to operate heavy plant machinery such as cranes, FLTs, weighbridge etc. Full training will be provided
A good positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
A good understanding and awareness of health and safety legislation
Good communication and problem solving skills
