Job Title – Crematoria General Assistant
Temporary – Until July 2023 with potential to extend or temp to perm
Location – Based at Chilterns Crematorium, Amersham & Bierton Crematorium, Aylesbury
Work Schedule – Mainly based in Amersham with 1-2 days in Aylesbury
Hours: Monday to Friday – 37 hours per week, 9:00am to 5:30pm
Pay Rate – £11.81
Overview
On behalf of Buckinghamshire Council, Pertemps Recruitment have an opportunity for a Ground Maintenance Operative to join the Crematoria Grounds team in Amersham as a Crematoria General Assistant. Carry out horticultural operations within the grounds either as part of a team or individually. To work as part of a team to ensure that the crematoria buildings and grounds are developed and maintained, with the utmost care and attention, to the highest possible standards
About the role
As a Crematoria General Assistant, you will have a number of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
Grass cutting, hedge trimming and weeding
Sweeping roads and pathways, ice and snow clearance
Clearing leaves and litter, clearance of floral tributes
Maintenance of fencing
Cleaning and painting of garden seats and shedsThis is a temporary position until 17 July 2023, though there is potential for this to be extended further or progress to a permanent position. The pay rate is £11.81 per hour, and you will be working full time, 37 hours per week. Your time will be split between the Chilterns Crematoria, HP7 0ND and the Bierton Crematoria, HP22 5BH, with the majority of your time being in Amersham and 1-2 days in Aylesbury
About you
The successful candidate(s) should have:
Ground maintenance or horticulture experience
Experience of using and maintaining of a range of hand tools and equipment, powered hand tools and light plant, operation of pedestrian operational and/or ride on machinery, mini-tractor with mounted equipment and excavator
