Summary:

At Bis Henderson, we are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the maintenance of a busy distribution centre, whilst ensuring compliance to Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations. This varied role has a strong focus on training teams to adhere to correct ways of working, and devising improvement strategies to optimise safety and quality within the workplace.

As the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the warehouse in the cost-effective delivery of facilities / maintenance services, with least disruption to site activities and always adhering to safe working practices. Your role will include examining corporate activities to determine where improvements can be made and ensuring compliance across the logistics organisation, specifically within the warehousing functions. The desirable candidate will have a keen eye for detail and strong numerical skills / financial awareness to assess budgetary activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the warehouse in the cost-effective planning and delivery of facilities / maintenance services.

Lead UK wide facilities management projects to enhance processes and ways of working.

Document and manage processes for ISO compliance including ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 45001 (safety management), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 50001 (energy management).

Conduct and review risk assessments and internal audits.

Manage supplier SLA's, reviewing suppliers on a continuous basis to drive down costs.

Experience:

Proven experience leading the management of facilities, ideally within a warehouse / logistics operation.

Working knowledge of QHSE requirements.

Previous project management experience and high levels of organisation.

PC literate in Microsoft software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Excellent communication skills, able to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders and train teams on best practice / new ways of working.

Strong problem-solving skills, able to act fast in the event of an emergency and also devise long-term solutions to enhance operational compliance.

Commercial awareness to secure cost-effective maintenance services within the facility.
