Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
Location: Aylesbury
My client is one of the world’s leading sustainable product manufacturers and has been creating sustainable solutions that preserve and protect water and energy for over 50 years, supporting homes and businesses across the world. They are looking for a Buyer to join their ever expanding, friendly, welcoming team. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and managing suppliers, improving controls and processes as well as leading and supporting in cost down initiatives across the business.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and develop existing suppliers
* Identify and deliver cost down opportunities
* Work closely with the Operations Department to ensure quality, prices and delivery for defined parts
* Identify, control and manage risk
* Responsible for sourcing and introduction of new components and suppliers in line with company procedures
* Work with buyers in other sites to capitalise on shared learnings
* Play a leading role in reduction of embedded carbon within the supply chain
* Implement inventory strategies
Attributes:
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload.
* Developed problem solving skills, including the ability to manage conflicting work demands.
* Capacity to work independently with limited supervision.
* Be able to undertake a continuous review of procedures to achieve and maintain best practice.
* Working knowledge and experience of Excel
* Able to travel as required – full, unendorsed Driving Licence
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to liaise and advise stakeholders at all levels.
* Adaptable and flexible and able to work as part of a team
* Able to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
* Must be very ‘hands on’ with Can do attitude
