Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced Night Shift Manager to oversee the night operations in a brand new warehouse in Aylesbury. This includes managing a team of (initially) 15 direct reports, where the main focuses of the night shift are to finish any outstanding picking before despatch, load vehicles / empty upon return and replenish goods accordingly to set up for the AM shift.
The ideal candidate will need to come from a warehouse / distribution background and have solid experience in management of both permanent & temporary workforce. An excellent leader with a drive & passion to be part of a new site set up is essential.

The working hours of this role is Monday-Friday 10pm-6:30am (no weekends or bank holidays!).
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a team of warehouse staff, including assigning tasks and providing training and support.
Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
Motivate & develop staff to achieve objectives and KPI targets.
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
Control and monitor costs within area of responsibility.
Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all orders and shipments, and maintaining high standards of quality control.
Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Key Skills/Experience:
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role in a warehouse or distribution centre environment.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Solid understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software applications.
Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety standards and requirements within a distribution environment.
Transport understanding with regards to legal requirements.
Able to identify and implement process improvement techniques.
Ability to analyse data and deliver a high degree of accuracy.
