Work Schedule – Mix of remote working and office working including site visits

Overview
On behalf of Buckinghamshire Council, Pertemps Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planning Officer to join the Central area (Core) Planning Team in Aylesbury. Working alongside the Planning Team Leader, you will play an important role in providing professional planning input at a senior level to meet the service objectives ensuring the provision of an effective, consistent and high quality planning service that is responsive to customer demands.

About the role
As a Senior Planning Officer, you will have a number of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
Responsible for manging a complex case load of more complicated planning applications, planning related appeals, complex committee reports, and compliance investigations that are processed and determined using professional experience in an efficient manner in line with statutory timescales.
Responsible for and lead on the preparation of technical and professional work in connection with non-statutory advice and Planning Performance Agreement requests and ensure provision of advice in a timely manner in line with agreements.
Responsible for preparing evidence and representing the Council at Public Inquiries and Informal Hearings and ensure that appeal evidence is of a high quality and provided within agreed timescales.
Taking responsibility as a senior member of the team for the supervision of the work of junior members of staff as required, including reviewing the work of junior members of staff and exercising delegated powers as required.
Lead on liaison and communication with developers, appointed professional agents, senior officers, and other stakeholders on development related matters, engaging with local communities, parish and town councils, and the public as required through the processing of planning applications.This is a temporary position for six months, though there is potential for this to be extended further. The pay rate is £32.28 per hour, and you will be working full time, 37 hours per week.

The Aylesbury office is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP20 area) with great transport links including a local train station and excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40.

About you
The successful candidate(s) should have:
Experience of managing Housing planning applications and projects (up to 10 units) /Employment/COU's etc.
Full UK driving licence & driving insurance covering business use is required
Previous experience working in a Local Authority is desiredAbout us and our Client
