We are currently working on behalf of a specialist care organisation who are looking for a permanent senior care assistant to work Days OR Nights to make a difference in their service in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The service prides itself on providing the highest level of care to the elderly and people with dementia, Alzheimer’s and other elderly related illnesses so experience within this client group is desirable. Requirements of a Senior Care Assistant:

* Experience providing personal care to individuals in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes their independence.

* Understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements which are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act, to maintain a safe environment throughout the home. Understand and have an awareness of Infection Control.

* Participating in writing and maintaining care plans for each individual.

* Administering medication as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records.

* Liaise with other care professionals relating to the care needs of the individuals.

* Respecting and maintaining confidentiality of resident’s personal information at all times.

* Encouraging, assisting, and supporting individuals to participate in leisure activities. This also includes escorting individuals to outside appointments and leisure outings.

* Being an active and encouraging member of the care team.

* Contributing to team meetings, ensuring good communication and participating in the induction and training of newly appointed care assistants, ensuring that the Care Home is a friendly and supportive working environment.
