Matchtech are excited to be working with a major Tier 1 JV on the HS2 project, and as result we have several Section Engineer requirements available, to work out of their Aylesbury and Brackley sites.
Our client are looking for a Section Engineer to:
* Assist with coordination, progress tracking and troubleshooting of Ground Investigation (GI) fieldworks and lab testing delivery across one of the C23 project sections
* Close liaison with the relevant GI section agents from the GI delivery team on site
* Close liaison with the relevant GI subcontractors and the GI laboratories to track and monitor progress and resolve issues (e.g. restricted tests, unsuitable samples etc.)
* Direct reporting to the Design & Engineering Section Lead to ensure the delivery of GI information on time
* Close liaison with the route wide Geotechnical Discipline, the GI Coordinator and their counterparts from the design partners JV
* Manage and respond to relevant contractual communications (TQs, EWs) on CEMAR, attend Risk Reduction meetings
* Supporting the link and coordination with the GI delivery team and GI subcontractors for management of GI related topics is again an essential part of this role
This role will be on an initial 6 month contract basis and will be initially available on an Inside IR35 (PAYE, UMBRELLA PAYE). If successful, you may be entitled to undergo an assessment should you wish to work outside of IR35
