We are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to join our team!

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service serves a population of more than 800,000 in the Southeast of England. Around 400 firefighters operate from 19 fire stations from the outskirts of London to the South Midlands. We employ around 100 specialist support staff, from ICT to fire prevention. About the role
As our Health and Safety Manager you will have the opportunity to shape the Fire Service’s approach to Safety Management. Ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all our employees, our visitors and our buildings.

You will be responsible for managing the Health and Safety team while providing guidance and advice on Health and Safety matters, policy issues and compliance with Health and Safety legislation. You will develop and oversee the Service’s audit programme to maintain health and safety compliance. Identifying areas for improvement to existing practices, procedures and policies while influencing change, in a collaborative way, is key.

About you
We are looking for someone who has:

* The ability to convert strategy into action

* Excellent influencing and negotiation skills

* An analytical approach to problem-solving

* Excellent planning and organisational skills

Experience and qualifications required:

* You should hold or be working towards a NEBOSH National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.

* Budget Management

* Knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation, guidance and other industry requirements.
