We are currently seeking an Engineering Geologist to join our client's geotechnical team on a rolling contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a long-term project in the Aylesbury area. This is a 6 month contract and the work is expected to last 1-2 years.
Key Details:
·Location: Full-time on-site in Aylesbury
·Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday), with some weekend or night shifts as required
·Contract: Rolling 6 month contract

Day-to-Day Duties:
As an Engineering Geologist, you will play a critical role in the ongoing development and execution of ground investigation work, ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
·Excavation Supervision: Oversee and manage on-site excavations, ensuring that safety procedures are followed and that the work is conducted efficiently.
·Ground Investigation: Conduct detailed ground investigations to assess soil and rock conditions. This includes the collection of soil and rock samples and analyzing their properties to inform construction and project planning.
·Soil & Geological Logging: Prepare accurate soil and geological logs, classifying soil and rock materials according to standard methods. You will document findings, helping to shape future design and construction work.
·Monitoring Drilling Activities: Oversee and log information from borehole drilling and other subsurface exploration activities, ensuring data is recorded and reported effectively.
·Report Preparation: Compile field reports detailing your findings from site investigations, including assessments of soil stability, contamination risks, and geological anomalies.
·Collaboration with Site Teams: Liaise with construction managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure ground conditions are thoroughly understood, and work is aligned with design specifications.
·Health & Safety Compliance: Work closely with the site safety team to ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations, minimizing risks during ground investigations and excavation works.
Requirements:
·Demonstrated experience with excavations, soil logging, and ground investigations.
·Strong analytical and observational skills to interpret geological data and produce accurate reports.
·Flexibility to work full-time on-site and adjust to some weekend or night shifts.
·Relevant qualifications in geology, engineering geology, or a related field.
Rate: To be confirmed, based on experience and IR35 status to be confirmed also.
