Joining this established and highly successful company just outside of Aylesbury, with opportunities for remote working for up to 4 days a week, the DevOps Engineer role is a fantastic opportunity for either a candidate with existing DevOps experience, or a Linux Systems Administrator, or even Applications Support Engineer, looking to gain DevOps skills in the support of a high-availability, client-facing infrastructure.

The Role

Joining a skilled and growing team of Developers, Network Engineers and Support Analysts, the DevOps Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the company’s high-availability Linux-based infrastructure and managing and deploying small code change releases, whilst developing fixes for known issues, and developing/scripting automations for current manual checking tasks.  In a wide and varied role, the DevOps Engineer will also peer review code or config changes, as well as triaging and taking ownership of reported issues, seeing them through to resolution.

What’s Required?

For this DevOps Engineer role, the main things we’re looking for are:

Experience with Linux administration – RedHat and Debian/Ubuntu preferred
Coding experience with Python 
A familiarity with databases such as MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB
Any experience with container administration, e.g., Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Terraform would be of real interest
Automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef would be highly advantageous
