Construction Assurance Manager
Location: Aylesbury and Brackley
Duration: Permanent Salary: £TBD + allowances
Job Description
• Establish and train a team to deliver the services which will consist of site-based representatives as well as office based support
• Site assurance consists of: – Undertaking reviews of the construction documentation including quality plans, method statements and ITPs
– Agreeing hold and witness points for the works and undertaking the inspections of the works during construction on behalf of ASC including site and factory inspections
– Raising NCRs on areas of the works which are not being undertaken in line with the design drawings and specifications and tracking close-out of these issues
– Witnessing testing of the works, both site acceptance tests (SAT) and factory acceptance tests (FAT)
– Carrying out audits of EKFBs site QMS
– Undertaking examination of the works during construction in accordance with the ITPs
– Reviewing works package plans (WPPs), RAMS documents
– Auditing the client/contractor construction assurance procedures and teams
• Providing safety leadership within ASC organization
• Contributing to quarterly reports and attending quarterly progress reviews
• Monitoring and supporting the site support and site assurance teams to ensure that the client is receiving the contracted for services
• Maintaining consistency across all teams
• Liaising with and agreeing with the construction services manager the resource requirements to align with construction activities
• Meeting budget, time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations
• Prompting and marketing all facets of ACS services during interfaces with clients and other sectors and disciplines, contributing towards the achievement of the divisional business plan and building networks within the industry
Key Accountabilities
• Managing the interface between the clients in respect of the services
• Monitoring that sufficient resources are provided to meet the agreed staffing levels
• Managing all aspects of site assurance as listed above, including staff
• Auditing the client/contractors construction assurance procedures and teams
• Reporting results of KPIs to the construction services manager
• Contributing to the quarterly reports as required by the contract scope
• Providing safety leadership for the teams
Knowledge & Experience
• BSc/BEng or MSc/Meng
• 10 years experience including the development and implementation of solutions preferably on rail projects
• Demonstrated proficiency in the English language both speaking and writing
• Leadership and team-building skills
• People management and motivation experience
• Coaching and supporting
• Decision-making and providing clear direction
• Ability to influence at site management level
• Ability to adapt to changing environments
