Our client is an exciting and expanding company looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis, based 5 days per week in their offices in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
This job would suit a someone currently studying their AAT- preferably on their level 3 or above – and with previous experience in a similar role to be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager with completing the monthly management accounts within the timeframes given.
The company are a specialist in their field who has won various accreditations for their work and have gone through substantial growth as a business and are continuing to excel in their market.
To be successful in this role you will have a strong work ethic and demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills as well as an aptitude for numbers. Good organisational skills and attention to detail are a must, to be able to manage workloads and priorities. Competent IT skills, specifically with MS Excel for the purpose of report production is essential. This person will demonstrate an understanding of the benefits of a quality-based management system.
Job responsibilities:
Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack including accruals, prepayments and journal postings
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Maintaining nominal ledger and nominal ledger reconciliations
Managing intercompany balances
Nominal variance analysis
Assisting with quarterly VAT submissions
Support in the development and production of forecasts
Preparation and assistance with audits and year end processes
Management of petty cash
Bank reconciliations
Purchase invoice processing
Calculating rebates & referral rewards
Processing staff expenses
Preparation of financial reports and models to assist in the evaluation of business initiatives, sales opportunities, investments and new projects
