Element has an opportunity for an Area Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. This a key role to ensure the business operates efficiently through planning and implementing our safety program. Reporting to the General Manager you will be overseeing multiple locations ranging from our High Wycombe and Stevenage sites. This is a great opportunity to join a leading player within the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Act as safety resource to our team members
* Assist lab management with loss control activities
* Coordinate and assist developing facility risk assessments
* Establish and implement the Safety Health and Environmental company program
* Coordinate Safety Health and Environmental audits, inspections
* Review and monitor subcontractor controls
* Ensure corrective management action when required
* Assist with new hire orientation and training programs
* Promote employee participation in the Safety Health and Environmental program(s)
* Formulate and conduct safety training sessions / demonstrations
* Lead the facility safety committee team
* Assist in major incident investigations and appropriate documentation
* Exhibit operational knowledge of pertinent safety standards
* Responsible for the reporting on the performance of the SHE management system
* Distribute new and changing safety related information
* Ensure safety equipment is part of operational maintenance plans
SKILLS
* NEBOSH General Certificate or OSHA 30hr / IOSH Managing Safely
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Proficiency in communication, both written and verbal
* Able to enforce regulations and engage in conflict resolution
* Capability to analyze data and provide evidence-based recommendations
* Confident working under stressful situations
* Strong understanding of governmental safety and health regulations / legislation
* Demonstrable experience of working in a safety support role and / or leadership position
* Ability to solve practical problems
* Driving Licence required due to travel across sites, split between High Wycombe Testing (50%), FIRA (30%) and High Wycombe Certification (20%)
* This role is commutable from Watford, Oxford, Aylesbury, Hemel Hempstead, Bourne End, St. Albans, Hatfield, Hitchen, Stevenage, High Wycombe
