Overview
Pertemps Recruitment, on behalf of Buckinghamshire Council, has an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join the Taxi Licensing team in Aylesbury. Working alongside the team, you will play an important role in being the first point of contact for customers of Buckinghamshire Council's licensing services, helping to ensure that high standards of service are delivered to our customers. You will provide advice and guidance to customers in person and via telephone and email, responding to queries, processing applications, and carrying out licensing administration and carrying out face to face appointments.

About the role
As a Licensing Administrator, you will be responsible for:
Respond to enquiries and complaints received from service users by telephone email and face to face in an appropriate and timely manner, including clarifying decisions and explaining any subsequent steps.
Process licence applications in accordance with service performance standards and statutory requirements, collating and checking details and entering data accurately into the computer systems.
Prepare and send routine licensing correspondence including producing licence documentation, physical licence badges and plates.
Deal with all incoming and outgoing correspondence to the service and carry out other administrative tasks connected with the licensing service
Carry out face to face appointments with customers including face to face identity verification appointmentsThis is a temporary position for 3 months, though there is potential for this to be extended further. The pay rate is £11.81 per hour, and you will be working full time, 37 hours per week.

The Aylesbury office is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP19 area) with great transport links including a local train station and excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40.

About you
The successful candidate(s) should have:
Previous experience and great organisational skills due to the fast-paced work environment
The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently and as part of a team
Empathy with service users and be able to use your initiative when dealing with queries
Motivation to make a positive difference for members and want to deliver total satisfaction
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant processes, systems, policies, and procedures will be essential, as will good knowledge of other areas of the authority relevant to the service
Excellent ICT skills, experience of standard packages, including MS Office, Excel, and may include use of bespoke databases etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Highly accuracy and attention to detail
Prioritisation skills to meet deadlines
Pride in their work, ready to take responsibility and be trusted to perform to the best of their ability
Previous experience working within a Licensing office (advantageous but not essential)About us and our Client
